16/02/2010. An intruder was discovered hiding behind an office door in Ascot Road yesterday evening at approximately 7.20pm. The occupant had returned home and left the garage door open to answer a ringing phone.
She was subsequently alerted to the intruder by unusual behaviour from her cat and it appears the male had gained entry via the connecting door from the garage. The occupant challenged the male and in reply he said "ssshh " and walked past her down the hall, pushing open a bedroom door to look inside in the process. He then left via the front door.

It is not believed anything was stolen at this time. Please remind friends and neighbours to ensure they lock doors and windows securely behind them.
